2014 Western Pacific Convention update

The 2014 Western Pacific Historical Convention is coming up in one week. We still have tickets available for the convention. See this page http://convention.wplives.org for information.

Presentations this year include the Western Pacific’s final decade, a look at the Sacramento Northern, modelling WP’s RDC-2s, information on WP’s SP trackage rights trains to San Francisco and more.

Our banquet speaker this year is Dave Buccolo, former Terminal Superintendent for the Western Pacific in Stockton and current General Manager of the Central California Traction Company.

In addition, preview copies of the book “72-82: Western Pacific’s Final Decade” will be on hand along with all four authors: Dale Sanders, Ted Benson, Dave Stanley and Dick Dorn.

There are also two layout tours open to convention attendees. And on Sunday, a special breakfast, charter ride and tour of the Western Railway Museum. (Note: Sunday WRM event is extra fare.)   We will also be doing our annual fundraising price raffle and have a vendor room with exhibits and models.

All proceeds benefit the Feather River Rail Society archives and its Arthur Walter Keddie Railroad Library.

The convention is August 15-17 in Fairfield, CA at the Hilton Garden Inn. Please join us!

(If you have questions, please email us at convention@wplives.org or info@wplives.org. There are still some banquet seats available as well. Email for details.)
